What is MDF?

MDF stands for Medium Density Fiberboard, and is what we use to create our panels. It's a composite wood product made of fiber that has been glued together under heat and pressure. This process creates a material with an excellent strength-to-weight ratio. MDF boards are often used in furniture, cabinetry, shelving, architectural millwork and window blinds. They're also great for art work!

Why is MDF Banned in the USA?

MDF was banned in 2009 because of what's called formaldehyde emissions. The material can emit formaldehyde, which has been classified as a carcinogen that causes cancer and other health problems. This ban does not affect what we use to create our panels, but it does limit what we sell to customers who are looking for furniture made from composite wood products. We make sure all of the materials used to manufacture our panels come with certification declaring they do not emit any levels of formaldehyde at all!

Medium density fibreboards (MDF) vary in weight and thickness, so a different number to give you would be impossible! They're also not very strong or durable on their own, but this is where they shine: when combined with wood veneers and paper facings to create beautiful paneling. MDF panels offer versatility that many other materials do not have because the material itself doesn't dictate what it's used for--the person using them does! - what are the disadvantages of mdf boards

The main disadvantage is that it's not a sustainable or renewable material. It also doesn't offer much in terms of structural support, isn't very strong and durable on its own, and can be flammable if exposed to high heat (like fireplaces). The surface has a uniform appearance which makes it perfect for creating furniture with consistent lines. As well as being lightweight so we offer an installation service if you don't want to tackle the job yourself. What is Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF)?

Medium density fiberboard, also called "mdf," is manufactured from wood that has been ground up and heated until it becomes what's known as a pulp. MDF can be made of either softwoods or hardwoods. It is not uncommon for mdf to contain some formaldehyde-based resin which provides the material with stability and strength.

What are medium density fibreboards used for?

Medium density fibres typically have an application in construction products such as doors, furniture components, shelving units or paneling. They're often combined with other materials such as particle board or plywood to provide greater structural integrity at less expense than solid wood panels alone would allow. The term "medium" refers to the density of the fibreboard--a higher density would be what's referred to as "High Density Fibre Board" or HDF.

What is a good use for medium density fiberboards?

Medium density fibres can add strength and rigidity while still being lightweight, making them very useful in construction projects such as shelving units, furniture components or paneling. They're also helpful when you need surfaces that are both sound and fire resistant! MDF panels offer versatility that many other materials do not have because the material itself doesn't dictate what it's used for--the person using them does!--and we make sure all of the materials used to manufacture our panels come with certification declaring they do not emit any levels of formaldehyde at all!

Is mdf wood?

MDF stands for "medium density fibreboard." It's made from particles of what we call "sawdust" or ground up pieces of wood. MDF is composite, which means it has been created by combining material together to create a board that can be used instead of solid lumber boards in building furniture and other projects. The beauty about using mdf as opposed to solid timber is the fact that you are able to have very smooth surfaces on your project--perfect if what you're working on needs uniform lines with no knots or imperfections in order to make it look more polished. Why would someone use medium density fiberboards?

Medium density fibres offer many benefits over hardwoods when constructing panels, furniture, shelving units or other parts of a project. They offer what is known as "structural integrity" to your product--which means they are strong and sturdy enough to work on their own without having to combine with another material such as particleboard or plywood in order for it to be durable enough for the job at hand.

- what are plywood

Plywood is what we call a composite material because it's made by gluing together two or more sheets of veneer. The most common type of plywood in homes today, and the one that has been used for many decades now, is called "face-grain" plywood. Face grain plywood consists of three layers:
