FlakeBoard was introduced onto the market by Brown Manufacturing Company in 1957 under the name "Brown Board". At this point, it consisted only of hardwood particles glued together at pressures up to 20 tons per square inch (TSI). In 1977, Kimball acquired both Brown Manufacturing Company (which became known as KRB) and the Owens-Corning company. Following this acquisition, Kimball introduced a new product called "Kalwall" that was made with balsa wood particles for use as an acoustic wallboard on both sides of glass panels at high rise buildings.
In 1980, KRB introduced its first full line of flakeboard under the Kalwall name which consisted of 20 different thicknesses (ranging from 0 to 60 TPI). This would become known as their Nature's Choice brand in 1985 after they discontinued production on all other boards but Nature's Choice. plywood solid certified laminate
Nature’s Choice is proud to be one of only two major companies still manufacturing composite board products today - we have been since 1957! With our continuous development over the years, we have been able to respond to changing demands by improving our products and developing new ones.
The disadvantages of using flakeboard are some limitations on how much weight the board can hold (due to its light weight), as well as difficulties with finishing due to the need for a coating or paint.
There is no better composite panel than Nature's Choice! Our boards are made from recycled materials so you know they're environmentally friendly, while still being durable enough that it will last for many generations without any issues. It also doesn't warp like particleboard when heated - making it perfect for use in high-temperature projects such as fireplaces or outdoor furniture sets. There are also many advantages to using flakeboard for your project - such as its lightweight, ease of installation and finishing.
Nature's Choice is the perfect option for projects that you want done right!
